This week’s activity is pre-empted by an upgrade to the Privacy Policy.

I got rejected for SMS messaging capability for the office phone, because, “Website lacks presence and Privacy Policy missing/needs an update.

The Campaign Registry, an organization formed to combat spam and other abuses of text messaging, verifies businesses further through online presence. They saw your submitted web page and concluded that it doesn’t have enough information to approve the SMS registration.”    So if your business runs without a web page it can’t get SMS for its phones.

“Kindly update your website/social media platform by adding more details to it (ex. Company Description, Services Offered, Contact Information, Add Some Posts, Privacy Policies) and email us back so we can dispute the rejection as soon as possible.

Also, your website’s Privacy Policy is missing/needs an update. The Policy should contain a clear statement that the End User’s personal information will not be shared or sold to third parties for the purposes of marketing.

Example Statement: ‘No Mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.’ “

Well, that Example Statement is certainly clear enough.    I don’t think there’s any way to make it more understandable than that.

IMPORTANT REMINDER:Privacy policy should be accessible or visible on your website.

The Privacy Policy button looks like this:  Link to https://www.dixonsforum.com/index.php/privacy-policy/  , labeled “Privacy Policy” in the website’s footer.    The Back button looks the same, but is labeled “Back”.    Click the Privacy Policy button to see the clear, visible Example Statement I have added right at the top.    Click the Back button to get back here.

When they say “Add Some Posts” I guess this button  link to https://dds.dixonsforum.com/  in the site’s header labeled “Dixon’s index” that goes to all my regular posts wasn’t clear enough.    Nor the “A. I. Bot’s index button, apparently, nor “Home Archives” nor “Naomi’s Corner”.  They all go to different kinds of posts.

What more can I add that looks like “some posts”?    Nevertheless, I have added a special post for the Campaign Registry in order to satisfy the “Add Some Posts” request.    Click here  link to https://dds.dixonsforum.com/index.php/2024/12/29/post-for-campaign-registry/  to see it, click a Back button to return here.

The Contact Information button  link to https://cp.dixonsforum.com/contact-me/  labeled “contact me” is in the footer, right next to the Privacy Policy button.

Company Description?    Services Offered?    We’re a mom & pop handyman & housekeeping service that charges by the hour, whose entire marketing program is word-of-mouth and occasional poster-posting, word-of-mouth being the more effective.

We do Lawn & Garden, Landscaping, Treework, any kind of building maintenance and repair, Housekeeping, Errands, and Specialty Work.    With ample steady customers already, we have no use for marketing campaigns.

We have no ties whatsoever to any third parties of any kind.    We neither know nor care to know how to affiliate with them.

Our landlord customer wants his tenants to contact us for service directly now, instead of acting as middleman himself.    To protect our privacy our office phone is set up to call forward to my cell#, instead of them calling my cell# directly.    This being a nation of immigrants, many of the tenants speak very misunderstandable English, so it’s better to use texts and translator apps.

That would be the extent of our business texting:    A tenant texts us about a problem, we text back to make an appointment, understanding each other through the translator apps.    No marketing campaigns, no spam nor other abuses of text messaging, just simple minimal back-and-forths.    I fail to see the logic nor the justice in requiring a business to have “Online Presence” (a costly and time-consuming endeavor) just for that, but here it is.

Click here  Link tohttps://dds.dixonsforum.com/index.php/2024/12/29/post-for-campaign-registry/  to visit the special post for the Campaign Registry, and here   link to https://www.dixonsforum.com/index.php/2025/01/25/dec-29-24/    for its home page.

Next Week:   Not the play.    Not ready for that yet,    I’m in the mood to take some more pictures, but maybe I’ll find something easier.  I’ll still be putting the Directory together for part of the week, too.
